They all start with type moves, eg. Cherimuu gets a fire move (Ember I think), Pachirisu gets a water move (Water Gun?) , Dorapion gets Razor Leaf (e.g.?). Makes the initial you vs rival near-impossible to win, if his pokémon can do double damage but yours can only do half-damage. Quite a difference between Charmander's 40-damage Scratch vs Squirtle's 35-damage Tackle. Notice the starting abilities for all the starter Pokémon. They all start with type moves, eg.
