Before you do anything please note that this cheat will only work with Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow.

Even though it’s small Mew is a very strong Pokemon which can turn invisible making an extremely rare sight to even see one.  Mew appears in Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow and it can learn any TM and HM making it the ultimate Pokemon.  Though be careful when handling Mew because this Pokemon can also weaken your team!

Because Mew is so incredible how to get it in the game is almost impossible because you have to capture all 150 Pokemon then head to the Celadon Mansion, go to the third floor and talk to one of the guys in the computer room!  But now I’ve found a cheat way of getting Mew without all this hard work but beware because you may need to start a new game to do this cheat.  The reason why is because you need to make sure that you didn’t fight the guy with a slowpoke on the way to Bill’s at Route 25 and you didn’t fight the gambler on Route 8.

Ok You’re Feeling Cool Now Right

If you’re ready, read on to find out how to capture Mew without a sweat!

1.  The first thing you want to do is to get Fly which is located between the Cycling Road and Celadon City.  I’ll give you instructions on how to get there. Head west past Celadon City to find a "Sleeping Snorlax" blocking the path you can fight it if you want but you’ll need the Poke’ flute to wake it up.  So instead of going past the lazy Pokemon look north and you’ll spot a tree.  Cut it down to progress further north.

2.  There’s not much to see in the wild here so head west again towards the big house.  You’ll see a man nearby who is amazed by your skills of getting there and south will be a security guard who let’s you move on to the Cycling Road.  Just move past the man and you’ll find yourself outside again and if you look at the lower part of your screen you’ll see bikers.

3.  Enter the small house located west of your screen to find a girl and her trusty bird Pokemon.  Talk to her and you’ll get a reward of HM02 Fly.  Teach it to one (or more) of your Pokemon so you can move on to the cheating part.  Now the first thing you want to do is go back to Route 8.

This is where you’ll find the gambler and the hardest part of the cheat.

1.  Go to Route 8 though the Underground Path near Celadon City.  When you come out at the other side you’ll be at Route 8.  Save your game when you get out so you don’t screw up anything.  You’ll be standing in front of the door like in the picture. 

2.  Move south one step then quickly press start.  If you got the timing right you should see the menu pop up before the trainer sees you if not you ruined the cheat so switch off and try again.  If you got the timing right Fly to Cerulean City.  Then the Gambler will see you but you’ll Fly away so he can’t battle you.

Note:  You won’t be able to save the game until you got Mew from this point onwards.

3.  After you’ve arrived head towards the Nugget Bridge then go east towards Bill’s House. Along the way, you need to find the trainer in the picture. Now here’s the important part…you have to make the trainer walks up to you.

So don’t go in front of the trainer - it will cause your game to freeze.  Instead walk above the trainer as shown so he has to walk over to get to you. It’s fighting time so just win this battle besides he only has a Level 17 Slowpoke. After you won the battle Fly to Lavender Town.

4.  This is it the last part.  Check your Pokemon levels and make sure at least one has a Level of 10 – 25 and it knows weak moves.  If not you better just hope your balls are either Great or Ultra.  Head towards the path as shown in the picture and the menu will pop up.  Exit the menu and you’ll find a Mew Level 7 (10 in Yellow) capture it and congratulations you got the rarest Pokemon in the game.

Here are opinions and answers from FAQ Farmers:

* There are a couple ways to catch Mew in FireRed/Leaf Green: GameShark and Action Replay. The two ways I think might work without cheats: (I haven’t really checked these out yet, so I’m just guessing) are 1) Beat the Elite four 12 times and look for Mew where you found Mewtwo in the Cerulean Cave or 2) Get all 150 Pokemon and surf up and down Cinnibar Island. Supposedly, a Mew should appear disguised as a Tentacool.

* To get Mew you simply go to the Team Rocket hideout and search for six Pokeballs which contain keys. After you have found them, you will find yourself in a maze. Find your way through and there you will see MEW! CAUTION: Mew will attack you first.

* To get Mew, you have to catch more or 150 Pokemon and then you go to the Pokemon Mansion on Cinnabar Island. Be careful, because you have to make a combination with the switches that has a Mewtwo statue and when you do it you will see a door you have never seen. There you will find the Pokemon you are looking for. Who is it? The great Mew.

* First you catch all 386 Pokemon. Then put twenty of them on level 100 then go and beat the ELITE FOUR with only two of the twenty level 100 Pokemon. Beat the ELITE FOUR ten times using two different level 100 Pokemon each time. Then release 19 of them and keep one. Then go and beat the ELITE FOUR with that Pokemon only. Go to your house, talk to your mom and then take one quarter of steps as money you have in the house and in every town. When you do that, talk to Professor Oak outside and you find a Mew level 17. It will battle you and its moves, Pound and Metronome, will crush you. Do not attack it. Use a Pokeball and you will catch it. Now I have a Mew level 89 and it is unbeatable. This trick can also work after you catch Mew if you want to catch a Celebi level 17. Be careful because this trick can mess up your game for good (85% for your game to be messed up). I wasted three FireReds and one Leaf Green trying to do this, but it’s worth it. Or just get a cheat cartridge, but Mew will not obey you.

* You either get a cheat cartridge or fly to Cinnabar (you must have all 150 Pokemon) and Surf up and down the edge of the water. You should just find Tentacool, but Mew will appear.

* You can only get Mew three ways: cheats, Cinnabar Island and Rockets.

* You need a GameShark or an Action Replay.

* You can catch him along island along with Missingno.

* The way you get Mew is by catching a Ditto raising it to level 43. Then have it beat one of the Elite Four Pokemon at least once. Then go back to Victory Road and have it in first in your party you’ll see Mew!

* To get Mew you simply have to beat the Elite Four 12 times and go to Cerealian City Cave where you confronted Mewtwo or go to Victory Road and Mew should appear (or just buy an Action Replay).

* First go to Cinnabar then straight after you arrive, head to the Elite Four and beat Lorelei. Save and turn off. Beat the Elite four, but when you are in the middle of beating your rival turn off again. Beat the Elite Four one more time. After the credits roll and when you’re in Pallet Town, fly to Cinnabar. Talk to the guy that turns your fossils alive and he will give you Mew. This is not an official Mew, so it is not like normal Pokemon. The only thing different is that it can only raise to level 231. This cheat WILL NOT mess up your game. This is a really cool cheat! Caution: Whatever you do, DO NOT trade it - it will mess up your game even if you start a new one.

* I think to get Mew you have to get all 150 Kanto Pokemon. You need both FireRed and Leaf Green. Then go to Celedon Mansion and talk to the Game Freak people. I think some how that will get you Mew.

* This is a long shot. I learned this from another master trainer. In FireRed start with Bulbasaur to speed things along. Continue until you get Cut. Then get your spare game ready. I also start with Bulbasaur so things run smoothly, but make one major difference when you get the SS. Anne ticket - don’t get Cut. Also, don’t beat the Veridian Gym. Just continue until you get Surf and since the boat is still in Vernilion just surf around it until you see a cave. Mew should be there.

* First go to Cinnabar Mansion and beat all the burglars. Then read all the diaries and beat one Bugler. Mew will appear.

* The only way you get Mew is Action Replay or GameShark. That is the only way.

* The only way is to catch Mewtwo and then go to Pokemon Center and release the Mewtwo. Also throw it away and then save the game and turn off. Then you turn it on and go into Cerulian Cave and Mew is there.

* The cheat about releasing Mewtwo doesn’t work. I tried it and lost Mewtwo and never got Mew!

* Let all your Pokemon free [except your starter]. Then you talk to Professor Oak and he should say the same thing. But then you kill Gary and when he’s dead you collect a Pokeball and it contains a Mew.

* You can’t get Jirachi or Deoxys in Mossdeep City and there is no 5 star! That’s a HAOX! There are only 4 stars! Don’t believe that trick (basically a no-use cheat) and do not believe it when you see someone say that there is another way to get it. Some people say that you must give a (that ancient fossil, not Anortih) Lilip a Pokeball and they will let you go up the moon and you can catch Jirachi and/or Deoxys.

* This glitch is very hard, your starter must be Charmander, beat the game, capture Mewto, You must have a Charizard, then train Mewtwo and Charizard to level 100, then go to the Cinnabar Island’s PC Release Mewto and Charizard, SAVE THE GAME, go talk to your Mom, take a Rest, Save the Game, go to Cerulean Cave go to Mewtwo’s Place. There would be nothing, use the infimerider, Mew will Jump out and will attack you, he is just level 70, use Master Ball to Catch.

* Raise Pokemon until you get to Mt. Moon. Catch a Geodude and raise it to a Golem. Go and beat Misty and go to Vermilion City. Go to SS Anne and go straight to Gary, whip him real bad and go to captain to get cut. After that go to the other trainers in the rooms at SS Anne and lose, yes lose to them and you’ll appear back at the Pokemon Center, SS Anne will still be there. Don’t board, you’ll still have cut and all the things you need. Go and get surf and teach it to Blastoise/Lapras (or any other water Pokemon). When you taught it surf get golem teach of strength and get your surfing Pokemon. Leave one space in your Pokemon list/belt etc. Go back to SS Anne and go through the first bit. Don’t go completely into the ship you’ll be able to see the ship, but do not go in. Surf to the right of the platform and you’ll see a short bit of land and a bus/car. Go and use golems strength on it the bus will go away and will reveal a staircase. Down the stairs and Mew will be in a Pokeball on a table in the room, ‘Pick it up, it’s yours!’

* You can’t. You have to go to a Nintendo Event with the Old Sea Map!

* Go to Celadon City and go to the department store third floor. Go up to the nearest person to you and talk to them. Then take the stairs up one floor and press UP B DOWN LEFT A RIGHT L B R DOWN DOWN DOWN and it will make a sound of Mew. Check your party. You third Pokemon should be Mew but don’t worry the Pokemon that was in the third box b4 is in your computer in the last box. This also opens a glitch that allows you to use ‘fly anywhere’, even in buildings!

* To catch Mew you have to go to World’s Edge Island (You need a special ticket, it’s outside Hoenn). It’s like a maze but you should be able to find a passage to the deep part of the forest. The moment you arrive, Mew will see you and flee into the grass. Don’t worry though: Mew is the only Pokemon in the grass, so all you have to do is corner it. Face it if possible and press "A" to lure it into a battle. Don’t assume it’ll be a puny lv.7 one like in Red/Blue though. Mew will be lv.30 so you’ll need some strong Pokemon that won’t KO Mew with one attack. Try to avoid Legendaries though; Mew’s Transform attack will prove to be a pain if used against them.

* You can only get it with a GameShark or those Pokemon cheat things. That’s what I think. And beware, those things where you have to release Pokemon are just a bunch of scams.

* The car/bus thing is untrue.

* The only way to get a Mew is through an event or use an Action Replay code. You can buy Action Replays at Best Buy for around $20.

* You can try to do the same as in red/blue/yellow.

* In order to get Mew you have to beat the Elite Four on your first time, but on your rival. Then talk to Professor Oak. He will battle you with weak Pokemon. If you win, you get Mew.

* First beat the league, then go to Professor oak. After go catch Mewtwo in Cerulean Cave. Then beat the league again, but with Mewtwo last in your party so don’t use him at all. Go to Professor Oak again and then Cerulean Cave and in place of Mewtwo will be Mew level 65.

* Go to Viridian Forest and catch a Metapod. Stick it in the PC and go to Mt. Moon. Go to Pokemon Center, buy the magic harp and evolve him to Gyrados inside the cave. Then take that Metapod back and trade him with your Metapod. Keep your Metapod in your party until you beat the game. Catch 60 Pokemon and talk to Professor Oak and after you will have a Mew in the spot of your Gyrados in the PC, but you can’t use your Gyrados at all!

* You could get Mew by beating the Elite four 12 times. Then you could cash him in the wild.

* The only way to get Mew is to go to dotted hole. Once you are in the cave save and then turn your game off. Note: any errors on this and your whole game is history. Turn your game back on and go up, right, left, down. Do that repeatedly until you are in the last hole. Then save again for safe keeping and turn your game off. Turn it back on and leave cave. Fly to Cerulean City and BUY LOTS OF MAX REPELS! After go to where you captured Mewtwo. Mew should be there where Mewtwo was. Note: Make sure you caught Mewtwo first.

* First, go to the front of Bill’s house. Next, you see this bald guy. But, you do not battle him. Actually, go to the front of him a little, but to where he doesn’t see you. Then, take a step closer to him. The second you do so, you press start. Then, select the Pokemon you have with Fly, and then fly to Cerulean City. Fun Note: The guy sees you, with a little. But, he doesn’t have time to run to you or anything! Now, go up Nugget Bridge {make sure you beat everyone on there before doing any of these steps!} and go to this trainer in the rock area that says something along the lines of "My Dad bought me Party Tickets". [Note: DO NOT GO UP TO HIM! Make him go up to you, or else the entire Glitch will be ruinen.] Then, fight him. All he has is a level 17 slowpoke. After you beat him, fly to Lavender Town. Go towards the grasses where you entire Celadon is, and then go straight into the grass. You’ll find a level 7 Mew! The only attack he has is Pound, so he’ll be easy to catch. Oh yeah, make sure that you have plenty of Great Balls, PokeBalls, Ultra Balls, etc. Then, you can catch your Mew!

* All you do is get 200 Pokemon on FireRed and fight Professor Oak. If you win you get Mew.

* To get Mew you might have to get all 150 Kanto Pokemon. Leaf Green is needed. Then talk to the game freak people. Somehow they congratulate you and however they congratulate you should get you Mew.

* Start a new game, choose Charmander. Get all eight badges. Go to the League 4 only with one Pokemon. Lose on purpose and go to Professor Oak and battle him. Lose again, the only Pokemon in your party will be Mew.

* On your FIRST go at the Pokemon league, battle the Elite 4 then when you get to the champion loose. Then talk to Professor Oak. He will battle you, but don’t worry - he has weak Pokemon and if you lose you get CELIBI but if you win you get MEW.

* The correct way to get Mew is to go to Safferon after you beat the Elite 4 five times. Go into the Pokecenter and Professor Oak will be there. He will make you battle him. if you lose you just black out and if you win he will give you a "mysterious Pokemon" (only if your party isn’t full!) and you will find out that is Mew at level 70.

* Having tried going to the Pokemon league and then losing to my rival and then trying to fight Oak. I can tell you that this DOES NOT WORK!

Anyone who says it does work is LYING. Hope this clears things up.

* The only way to get Mew is with a GameSahre or going to the special content that every is celebrated in the United States.

* In Cinnabar Town enter the Pokemon mansion.

* The only way to get a Mew is to catch the first 150 Pokemon to be able to catch it.

* Get the deep sea chart.

* 1) You beat the Elite Four 12 times and then go to where you got Mewtwo. 2) Get all 150 Pokemon and then you’ll catch in the wild or where you got Mewtwo.(depends on what game you have.). 3) Go to Best Buy, Target or the Pokemon Center and buy a GameShark. On the GameShark is a list and on it, it says how to get Mew, Celebi and so on. I have tried all of these and they all worked!

* Using Action Replay or GameShark: The Celedon department store cheat doesn’t work, I tried it three times and it didn’t work.

* You get Mew by beating the Elite Four 54 times by releasing all your Pokemon and keep your weakest one. Then go to Cinnabar Island and go in the Pokemon Mansion. You will find a Mewtwo and a Mew together fighting. That’s how I caught my Mew and Mewtwo. By the way, there is a Mewthree and you get it on Nine Island. You need the S.S Anne Ticket to Vermilion City and go up to the S.S Anne, but don’t go in. Then you need to surf around it and find an island near it. Search the island until you find a Jeep. Use strength to move it and Mew will appear.

* Mew is only obtained in Nintendo Rocks America.

* This is the real way of how to catch Mew: release all your Pokemon except your starter. Then you go challenge the Elite Four, purposely lose, and then trade with a friend your starter for a Magikarp. Then talk to Professor Oak and he’ll give you all 386 Pokemon except Magikarp!

* Ok so if you have an Action Replay and want Mew and Deoxys here is the action replay code for a Shiny Mew level 30 holding an Arorua ticket It has awesome contest ability).
